grow and the company reckons to havebred the same
high-DM andnovel taste into an even smaller product,
themini cucumber snack ‘onebite’ (QuatrinoRZ), which
produces 5-6cm long10-15g fruits.More concepts are in
thepipeline.
Producingorangepear-shaped fruits, OperinoRZF1 is
the name of a newRijkZwaanmini cherry tomato variety.
Producing average fruit weights of 15-20g, the new shape
not only looks good as part of amix, but also appeals
to top-quality restaurants looking for something abit
different.
Finally, Kluitsla combines threedifferent lettuces grown
in apot, which is sold in a
bag c/w roots. Described
as a good example of a
product that canbe grown
hydroponically in a vertical
farming system, albeit
with lettuces of the same
growing speed, benefits of
no soil include a cleaner
product.
EnzaZaden showed a
poster andbrochures of
a new jointless tomato
variety, which sees the

producing 8 to 9 110-110g fruits per truss, the company

Finally, Sumapol (E23L.2300) is a new cucumber for
summer and autumn crops. Producing anopen, compact
cropwith a smaller leaf, the variety has good fruit and
crop colour and rapid shoot growth. Sumapol has a high
degree ofmildew resistance and is genetically strongly
resistant toMycosphaerella.
